The first steps in any new project can be unfamiliar at times as it’s you who determines the outcome. When starting a project such as mastering coupon collection methods, you need to have a step by step plan in place to achieve your savings goals. Your first step should be to check your local newspaper, especially the Sunday edition. Coupons are often included in Sunday’s retail advertisements. These Sunday papers are usually located in well-lit locations inside the store and sometimes outside. Either way they are easily noticeable. These Sunday papers are sometimes free and sometimes they can cost around 50 cents. They also may have their own center display depending on where you are. Some may be of higher quality than others, but either way there should be a decent selection to choose from.
Ask friends and family to save coupons for you if they ever come across extras. It is assumed that most families do not take full advantage of the coupons that are available for use today, which is the reason this article is sharply relevant. When you start asking your friends and family, let them know what kinds and brands of products you usually buy so that they will be able to put useful discount coupons in a separate container for you. My guess is that when your friends and family start to notice how many coupons they are saving for you, they will begin to save their own as well.
Check the entryway area at the stores or markets you visit. Some more than others may have scores and scores of magazines and other publishings all of which can potentially have savings in them. There are often coupon books or some sort of rack containing free coupons. Most of us aren’t aware of this because we pass by them so quickly and dismiss them as worthless paper media. There may also be a coupon exchange box, where other shoppers can place coupons they can’t use or that they have no use for. It is truly amazing how many coupons collect at the entry ways of these types of retail locations.
Searching for coupons online is an option as well and is preferred by many. As long as you are savy enough to log onto the internet, you should never fall short of having access to substantial savings. If you go to Google or Bing or a similar search engine, you can type in “grocery coupons” or “restaurant coupons” or “Applebee’s Coupons” etc. The lists go on and on. That’s the convenient aspect of searching online, you get to specify exactly what you’re interested in. Often, you can print these out and redeem them at your local grocer. Another great way to find coupons is to check the store’s own website. This will help you to find out what is on sale at a bargain and also to find coupons. This is helpful because it means that you are focusing on the store that you actually like to shop at and on the same token the location is getting your business.
Join online coupon sites that you have personally verified and are satisfied with. An internet search will turn up several options that you can view at your own pace. Look for a site that includes a section for coupon trading, and maintains a coupon database of currently indexed grocery coupons and rebates. Some of the more popular sites are LivingSocial.com, Groupon.com, CouponMom.com, and Coupons.com
Look in your weekly supermarket circular, retail magazine stores, retail music stores, retail bicycle stores, retail shoe stores, and especially gas stations. Just about every gas station has a surplus of magazines and related items therefore an overstock of coupons occur. It’s not something that can be necessarily fore-casted but to an extent you can see it in pricing.
Look in your supermarket. If there are advertisements on the walls with name brands displayed, you can bet that somewhere within the location lies sources of coupons, gift cards and more. Certain aisles may have special coupon machines on the shelves. These are called “blinkie” machines that dispense coupons as necessary. It is an effective way of presenting coupons to the public or at least to those who make their way through those specific aisles.
Examine the products you already buy to see if they have coupons on them for future product purchases. You never know, some of the coupons you have may be for repeated use. This is always an ideal outcome if you are into couponing.
